This Drink Treats Acne & Mira Rajput Kapoor Swears By It

Mira Rajput Kapoor’s solution to treating acne doesn’t involve applying anything on your face. No spot treatments infused with Retinol or Salicylic Acid. No DIYs that lighten scars. Her remedy is simple…and ingestible. You read that right.

I’m talking about raisin-saffron water; a drink Mira guzzles down in the morning right after waking up. And, yes, it does treat acne…and more. Here’s what you need to know.

Mira’s Raisin-Saffron Water Recipe

She simply soaks 5 raisins and a strand of saffron in a quarter cup of water the night before. This, she drinks/eats first thing in the morning before guzzling a cup of lukewarm-warm water down after. Mira explains that this beverage relieves pain during periods and symptoms of PMS, balances your hormones and controls and treats acne amongst other things. But apart from eliminating acne, it does more for the skin than you know.

Here’s Why It Works

The saffron in the saffron-raisin mix is chock-full of antioxidants that fight ‘free radicals’ and prevent your cells from aging. Even raisins are rich in phytonutrients like phenols and polyphenols. These are plant-based antioxidants that diminish lines and wrinkles. slow loss of collagen, and reinstate the suppleness of your skin.

Saffron can hydrate and nourish the skin from within, enhancing the health of your cells.

The resveratrol contained in raisins helps rid your body of toxins. This detox brightens up your complexion and makes your skin glow naturally. The Vitamin C in it can lighten areas afflicted by discolouration, scars, and pigmentation and promote the appearance of an even-toned complexion.

Vitamin A in raisins can clear up acne and protect the upper layers of the skin from UV-induced damage too. This acne-fighting ability is further bolstered by raisins’ anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties. Raisins even contain Vitamin E to soothe and treat inflammation.

I know I’m doing this every day starting now!
