I’m Sayin’ ‘I Dew’ To Skin Flooding – A Trend That Promises A Glazed Glow à La Hailey Bieber

I’m Sayin’ ‘I Dew’ To Skin Flooding – A Trend That Promises A Glazed Glow à La Hailey Bieber

If there’s one skincare goal we are all thirsty for, it’s glowy, dewy skin. It’s why ‘glazed doughnut skin‘ still has Instagram in a chokehold. If your ultimate goal is to have skin that radiates so much that your lit factor gives the sun a run for its money, there’s a new skincare hack out there to help you reach said glowy goddess goals. Enter: Skin flooding.

The hack has reached a fever pitch as it delivers a glazed glow that’s visible for miles. It involves flooding the skin with intense moisture to make it look ultra-dewy. Best of all, cuties, is that the results are immediate. Longing for skin that’s glossier than a glazed doughnut? I gotchu. Attention, glamm queens: class is in session.

The 411 On Skin Flooding

It’s true, Hailey’s Instagram has influenced us all. The hack that has 5.6 billion views follows the same premise of seeking gorgeous, dewy skin, but with the added bonus of extra bounce. It works all year round but is gaining momentum because of its ability to cure dehydrated winter skin. The term ‘flooding’ in ‘skin flooding’ refers to the process of layering skin care products onto freshly cleansed, damp skin in order to seal in the moisture. The method increases the penetrative efficiency of the products to maximise absorption. Skin flooding has reached cult status because it has a seal of approval from most dermatologists.

Your Step-By-Step Guide To Try The ‘Skin Flooding’ Trend

Step 1: Start With Damp Skin

After cleansing, I pat my face dry with a soft washcloth. I leave a little bit of moisture behind before going in with step 2. Your face should be damp, not wet.

Step 2: Layer On A Hydrating Serum

Next, I used a hydrating serum. I prefer using serums that pack in a punch of hydration for this step, I look for ingredients like Hyaluronic acid, Ceramides, Peptides, Cica & Panthenol.

Step 3: Apply A Thick Moisturiser

As the last step, I used a thicker moisturiser to seal in all that hydration. This creamy formula offers the perfect amount of dew factor. It also helps seal in the moisture and prevents transepidermal water loss (TEWL) so the skin stays hydrated and plump. Remember to wear your sunscreen and you are good to go.

Step 4: Cash In

Bask in the dewy, glowy rewards. Selfie optional!

Try this out and watch the compliments pour in!
