Period Pimples No More: 7 Ways To Curb Those Monthly Zits!

Menstrual acne is quite common and often strikes even the ones with the least troublesome skin. The reasons may vary but are often narrowed down to changes in hormone levels, which, in turn alter the basic nature of the skin like the activity of sebaceous glands, cell turnover etc. While you may not be able to completely eradicate it, you certainly can use these little tips to prevent menstrual acne as far as possible.

1. Be a clean freak

1 prevent menstrual acne - wash your hands

Wash your hands often and touch your face as little as you can. With all the germs our hands attract, touching your face will transfer them onto it and cause breakouts. Wash your face twice a day to make sure that all the pollution and grime is thoroughly scrubbed out. Use a gentle skin cleanser so you don’t strip your skin of its natural oils.

2. Relax

Stress can cause acne, so make sure you don’t get too worked up or worried before/during your period. With the hormones already a bit haywire, additional stress can only do harm. Get a massage or a facial to help you set the mood for relaxation.
