Here’s Why Bella Hadid Regrets Getting A Nose Job

In an interview recently, Bella Hadid was seen sighing and admitting, “I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors.” But what led to this regret? I had to dig deeper because it is not every day that a supermodel comes out and talks about her body image issues so openly.

In a struggle to fit into a certain “image” and look “perfect,” celebrities often go for fillers and surgeries that permanently alter the way they look naturally. But the reasons behind Bella Hadid getting a nose job done got me thinking about how similar we all are.

Scroll on to see why we are the birds of the same feather – just that some of us do not have enough money to take the leap.

3 Reasons Why I Feel Connected To Bella Hadid On This

Body Image Troubles

Growing up as a basic girl in a middle-class family, it is safe to say that my body image issues were off the roof. But to hear a supermodel like Bella Hadid speak about body image issues as a teenager felt weirdly comforting. She got a rhinoplasty done when she was only 14. But at 26, Hadid says, “I think I would have grown into it.” She even bleached her hair and then died it back to merely “accept” herself and I am kind of in that phase too – hard relate!

The Unsaid/Said “Comparisons”

Moreover, growing up with a sister in the house usually triggers competition that can turn unhealthy – all thanks to the comments flowing in from friends and relatives. How one of us looks better than the other or how her height is better than mine. Now imagine the whole world doing that because you are a celebrity with another famous sibling. So when Bella was made to feel that she is the “uglier sibling”, her instant reaction was anxiety that slowly led her to get a nose job done at a young age.

People Pleasing Take On Life

And the ultimate toxic trait – people pleasing. To go over and above in life to make sure people found her “relevant” and “pleasing” led Hadid to alter her appearance. But we have all been naive at some point in life and when that phase passes (like it has for her), we often tend to regret those actions (like her). Now she is very much at peace with herself and in sync with the way she is. My takeaway: Self-acceptance is a journey and by the end of it we’re all in a better place with ourselves!

Basically, I’m just here trying to tell you that you are not alone in this. Even Bella Hadid had the same struggles growing up so you’ve got this!
