This Easy Bun Is The Celeb-Approved Summer Hairstyle To Try

The late ’90s and early ’00s have been back for a while now, thanks to our favourite genZ celebrities. From tic-tac and butterfly clips to bubble braids, we’ve seen new variations of these gems bring revived. The latest trend that’s bitten the stars and has even made its way to Bollywood, is the spiky supermodel bun.

What Is The Supermodel Spiky Bun & How To Do It?

The high bun has an ultra-sleek ‘supermodel’ finish in the front.

First, part your hair in the centre. Then pull all of the hair into a sleek ponytail. Rotate the ponytail till it forms a knot. Secure this with a hair tie, leaving a few of the ends loose.

Every celebrity has styled the ends of her hair differently depending on their preference, and you can too!

Alia Bhatt’s Downward Spiky Bun

The new global face of Gucci and mother-of-one looked drop-dead gorgeous at the Filmfare Awards 2023. Her hair was parted in the centre and gelled back to perfection with no trace of flyaways. And Alia’s spiky bun styled by Mike Desir pointed downward and played into her supermodel aesthetic.

Gigi Hadid’s Double Spiky Bun

One of the pioneers of this hairstyle, the supermodel made a strong case for it when she sported it at the MET Gala in 2022! Gigi has since then made the hairstyle her go-to by throwing her hair up in a spiky bun to run errands, go to the gym, and everything else in between!

Bella Hadid’s Barely-There Spiky Bun

Taking after her sister, Bella also sported the supermodel hairstyle innumerable times for brand shoots, the gym, and even at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet! My favourite was her barely-there spiky twisted bun that was so chic.

Hailey Bieber’s Downward Twist

Seems like we found the look that inspired Alia! The Rhode Beauty founder was quick to hop on to the spiky bun trend when she sported it at an event last year, pairing it with her iconic glazed makeup look.

Dua Lipa’s Messy Spiky Bun

It seems like the Levitating singer didn’t take longer than a minute to style her hair! Dua Lipa’s hair was pulled back, with no parting or anything and secured with a hair tie, a few strands intentionally left free to get in on the trend. That’s how simple this is to pull off.

Olivia Rodrigo’s Red Carpet ‘Do

Making her debut at the MET Gala, the Happier singer took notes from the fashion girls on how to put forth a look that would be remembered. Her spiky hairdo though was overpowered by her feather dress but still fit the aesthetic well.

I know what hairdo I’m going for next time I’m dressing up (or down)!
