This bride and groom had a simple Arya Samaj wedding followed by a reception at Trident, Gurgaon. And if there’s one thing we love about this wedding, it’s the charming chemistry between these two. When Megha and Kurt started planning their wedding, they wanted a “memorable” but low-key affair. But when this “small affair” turned into a big one is what they didn’t realize! The couple self designed and sent out their E-Save The Dates as the first step before starting the hunt for the venue. After visiting a couple of hotels, they decided to go ahead with Trident, even if that meant preponing the wedding by a day! Yes, the venue was pre-booked, so the couple decided to shift the date. “Kurt suggested that since it was just close friends and family, we should send out a ‘change-the-date’ message,” shares Megha.

The morning of 5th Jan, 2016, began early with a visit to the court followed by a temple wedding. Megha and her sister Neha picked out a beautiful pink and green outfit from Raw Mango for the ceremony. “Just a week before the wedding when I told my sister that I’ll just pick out something from my existing collection of Indian wear, she was shocked,” shares Megha. Her sister insisted and Megha was lucky to find this gorgeous outfit at the last minute. It didn’t even need any fittings!

The decor for the evening reception was done by Pretty Much and the couple decided on minimalist decor with a play of colours and lights. “I trusted the team and the superb results are obvious in the pictures,” shares the bride.

The couple entered the wedding reception lead by 22 pundits who chanted the shlokas. Kurt wore an Armani tuxedo and the bride was dressed in a gorgeous creation by Monisha Jaising.
The entire wedding party stayed at the Trident for two days so everyone could be together and enjoy to the fullest!

Megha also recalls how her friends put up a surprise performance for the two of them. “They very methodically prepared some numbers that reflected Kurt and my story, and danced to them. It was a memorable evening by all means! What got me emotional was that they all stayed up till 4a.m. that morning to practice for the event and then partied till the wee hours. Friendship on steroids!!”
