Step 2. Now take the pallu and gently wrap it around your neck, leaving the loose end hanging behind your left shoulder.

Step 1: Place the pallu over your left shoulder and hold your left hand there.

Step 2: Now make a loop with the rest of the pallu over the same shoulder, pass the end of the pallu through it and pull it out.

Step 3: Place the overhand knot that’s been created on your left shoulder. Simple, right? Just make sure that the knot is placed correctly on your shoulder so it doesn’t slip off.

Look 3: The Headband

Step 1: Start with taking the pallu towards your back, and hold it at the nape of your neck.

Step 2: Carefully circle it around your head like a headband, covering your ears.

Step 3: Once you have the pallu back at the nape of your neck, secure it by tying a knot there. You’ll have to pass the end of the pallu through the headband to tie the knot.

Step 4. When you feel like it’s tight enough to not slip off, bring the leftover pallu forward and let it hang by the right shoulder.

Look 4: The Headband Part 2

Continuing from the previous style, you can take your look to another level still!

Step 1: Take the remaining part of the pallu (which is still loose) and wrap it around your head once again, just like you did for the previous style.

Step 2: Secure the second band tightly at the nape of your neck by passing it through the headband twice.

Step 3: When you feel it’s tight enough, take the end of the pallu over your right ear again and insert it in the headband in a way that it can’t be seen – make sure you do this very neatly!

So the next time you have to wear a saree, you know you don’t have to wear it the usual way. Have fun and create your own style!
