#StreetStyleParis: What To Wear For a Trip To The Eiffel Tower (A Photo Diary!)

Like any great Hollywood movie’s ‘cliché’ shot of a wide Parisian window over-looking the Eiffel Tower, how could I come back home without a photo(s) with this gigantic beauty. Like they say ‘seeing is believing’ there is something so enigmatic and romantic about this robust, copper colour iron structure that I almost went four times too see it, mostly in my 4-day stay in Paris.

Still unable to comprehend that feeling of falling in love with the Eiffel, I surly crown this wonder my most favourite of all the wonders I have seen so far which includes The Leaning Tower of Pisa, The Colosseum, Great Barrier Reef, Golden Gate Bridge and our very own Taj Mahal. I for all reasons could not find a better backdrop but The Eiffel for this shoot.

If you are packing for Paris and over that if its for Paris Fashion Week, preps have to be at top notch level. So when I saw this beautiful, subtle Jacquard dress at the Benetton store there were no second thoughts. Jacquard is all about elegant embroidery over metallic, which looks classy, yet has the apt dose of sheen to it.

The world charm of this dress made it the obvious choice for Paris. It has an interesting back and the muted tone was apt for the autumn weather in Paris. If going all metallic ain’t your style then jacquard is for you. Jacquard trousers, skirts, dresses or jacket make a must have this season. For this season a furry number in your wardrobe is as essential as a crisp white shirt – my fashion verdict after Paris Fashion Week! Every store, every collection had fur elements in their collection, and I had on me too, thanks to Benetton’s latest A/W 14 collection!!

The weather in Paris was sunny and fab but a coat/ jacket was essential for the windy moments. Hence this oversized fury coat was my choice (Paris Fashion Verdict No. 2- Jackets that might look like borrowed from your grandpa are flooding the international fashion scene).

The leopard print of the jacket adds the much needed oomph to this look (Paris Fashion Verdict No. 3- Leopard print on jackets & coats is back with a bang) This gorgeous fur bag adds another furry detail to the look. Honestly, I am so impressed with UCB’s latest collection in India! They are at par with fashion scene in Paris. The new collection is trendy and classy unlike their usual throw of bright colors and choice of print. Benetton had so much to offer that I could easily create three fashionable looks in 15 minutes that could accompany me to Paris.

When traveling abroad I always carry few basics as one cannot take too many of everything and its super easy to dress anything up or down, just like these shoes! These booties from Benetton were my obvious choice. Black (goes with anything), and wedges (for long walks down the Parisian lanes).

I wore them with skinny jeans, boho skirts and this classic jacquard dress without making it look too casual. For added details, I wore another jacquard peter pan top and a tan belt to enhance the waistline and the beautiful cut of the dress.

We all say and believe that fashion/trends in India reach a season late. But trust me, as witnessed during my 18-day European spree…it’s no more the case. Indian is spot on with the current trend chart. What I saw in the likes of Top Shops or H&Ms I found the same in Delhi as well before leaving for Paris.

Until then!
