Nitika Bhatia of The Shopoholic Diaries Joins The POPxo Blog Network

There is an instant connect you feel with Nitika Bhatia’s blog: The Shopoholic Diaries. There are of course three really good reasons for it. One, she’s as real as she can get, curvy and fun. Two, she knows how to spot new trends and dress up as she pleases. Three, she is addicted to beauty, lifestyle and shopping – just like you and me. That’s why The Shopoholic Diaries is now on our radar because it brings together all the things a girl next door needs in one place – this blog! If you”re looking for some style inspiration – look up her neat lookbooks that give you styling tips on how to wear every little trend, from tutu skirts to jacquard pants. She also has beauty reviews, lifestyle events and a cool FB shopping page where she sells some amazing stuff. This month, as she becomes a part of our POPxo Blog Network, we ask her all about the things she loves and quiz her on her inspiration and aspirations. Read on…

What sparked your interest in fashion/ street style?

I have always loved shopping and moving to Delhi gave me a better access to the best high-street brands, and helped improved my personal style and that’s what really attracted towards the fashion blogging world.

What is your first fashion memory?

My first fashion memory dates back to my childhood when I clearly remember wearing my mom’s oversized sunglasses and carrying her handbag and posing around in the house.

What is your personal style statement?

My personal style is a mix of chic and comfortable. I believe in staying updated with the latest trends and tend to keep a blend of my personal style and what’s new in fashion.

What made you take up blogging?

I started blogging to share my love for fashion and shopping with fellow fashionistas. And slowly it became a platform for me to share my personal style and shopping experiences.

What would you like to tell all aspiring bloggers?

Be inspired, but don’t blindly copy someone – it’s called “Personal Style” for a reason. Also, I believe one shouldn’t run behind fame and success, if your blog has some unique posts with good quality, your follower base will start going up steadily.

One beauty product you swear by…

Innisfree Waterproof BB Cream which works well on my skin all around the year and gives me a smooth and soft skin.

An outfit you could live in for the rest of your life…

Any A-line knee-length dress simply because it is easy to style, comfortable and works well on my curvy body shape.

Your biggest guilty pleasure…

Shopping! Whenever I am free I spend my time either shopping online or hitting the nearest mall for impulse purchases.

The one trend/style you would NEVER wear…

Personally, I don’t like too-short shorts which I think give a feel that you are dressed up for a music festival or Halloween.

Success is?

In my opinion, success is keeping the perfect balance between your professional and personal life.

Fame or Money?

I would go with fame any day as I believe money comes to you itself if you are famous and doing something good in life.

You look up to?

In terms of personal style, I love following Tanesha from Girl With Curves who is an inspiration for all the curvy divas out there who think they can’t look stylish.

The ONE thing no one knows about you?

I still don’t want anyone to know about it, so let’s keep it a secret 😉

What is your biggest strength?

I have never let criticism and negative comments affect me. When I started blogging I was many a time criticised for choosing this field over a career I could have pursued after my MBA degree. But now I can confidently say that I am doing something I really enjoy and good at, more than what I felt while completing my degree.

If you could be anyone for a day, who would you like to be?

I would definitely like to be Sonam Kapoor as I really envy her wardrobe and would want to check out for myself all the stylish clothes and accessories she owns.

One last question: How does it feel to be part of the POPxo Blog Network?

I have been an avid follower of the POPxo network and really enjoying reading their latest posts ranging from topics like Fashion to Relationships. Being a part of the network not only would allow me to work with some really talented people but also would let me reach a wider audience who are fashion-lovers like me.
