Step 1: Refresh the Canvas

Your work bag should never be without a box of fresh wipes to get rid of oiliness, especially on your T-zone area, as well as to wipe away all traces of any eye makeup that has probably smudged through the course of day. Also, a few spritzes of a cool face mist can totally perk up your skin and make you feel extra refreshed.

Step 2: Cover Up Those Blemishes

Now that your visage is freshened up, you can cover up those under-eye shadows, spots and blemishes without adding a heavy base. All you need is a creamy concealer pen that you can swipe on easily around areas that need covering up – below your eyes, around your nose and along your chin – to even out your skin tone. For those with problematic skin, you may need to add some foundation if you feel like your complexion isn’t even enough. Even then, just add a thin layer of a lightweight moisturizing foundation, to hydrate your skin at the same time after a full day.

Step 3: Add Oomph to Your Eyes

A neutral palette of eye shadows is a blessing to carry around in your on-the-go makeup pouch, as browns and taupes work wonders in opening up your peepers. No need to carry a brush, just use your fingers to blend on some dark colours and finish off with a volumizing mascara for some instant drama to your flirty lashes.

Step 4: Add a Hint of Colour to Your Lips and Cheeks

Fabulous lip and cheek stains were just meant for such occasions, and are a blessing for swiping on subtle hints of colour to your pucker, along with bringing a natural flush to the apples of your cheeks. Since you’ve already added some quick date-night glam to your eyes, keep your lips simple with just a light dab of colour – and you’re good to go.

Step 5: Get Your Glow On

A simple step before you run out the door is to whip out a highlighter to mask any telltale signs of a stressful day and to give you that just-back-from-the-spa glow in a second. Dab this secret weapon along your brow bone, on the top of your cheekbones and above your cupid’s bow for some luminous radiance. This pro finishing touch can make you shine post-work no matter how bad a day you’ve had!
